Resources for Community Partners

Bring a proven, community-based storage network to your area.

If you want to bring temporary and voluntary out-of-home firearm storage like The Armory Project to your community, you don’t have to start from scratch. We’ve developed three comprehensive SOPs that walk you through recruitment, onboarding, and long-term sustainment so that you can build a reliable partner network with confidence.

Core Guides (Start Here)

These three Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are the foundation of TAP. They include the process, tools, scripts, and templates needed to bring a community partnered approach to your area.

SOP 1: Recruitment

How to grow your partner network.

Step-by-step guidance for recruiting firearm retailers, ranges, pawn shops, military bases, and other partners to join your network by offering temporary storage and/or sharing resources.

SOP 2: Onboarding

How to train partners and their staff.

Provides a consistent baseline understanding of TAP, includes training materials, and helps ensure partners and supporters are aligned on language and expectations so the program works in real settings.

SOP 3: Sustainment

How to keep your network strong and reliable.

Guidance for maintaining consistent follow-up, supporting partners over time, and building a rhythm that keeps the network engaged and functional.

Marketing Materials

Marketing materials that help raise awareness, normalize help-seeking, and make it easier for people to learn privately and take the next step. To order any of these materials, contact your state lead or join TAP if you’re not an existing partner.
